Men’s Wallet Free Pattern Roundup

Most adults take their identification when they leave home. They may also take health cards, debit/credit cards, cash and/or coins and other small items. Women’s wallet patterns are abundant. Men’s wallet patterns are not. This post is a unisex and men’s wallet free pattern roundup.

Introduction

Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are a few months away. Wallets make great gifts and both buying wallets and buying patterns to make wallets are options. There are lots of free patterns for women’s wallets online, but fewer for men. If you’re not sure you want to commit to a men’s wallet pattern purchase or are unsure of your sewing skills, this post is for you. I’ve scoured the internet for free men’s wallet patterns so that you don’t have to.

Browsing the internet for men’s wallets lead me to two main categories of men’s wallets. They differ according to the method of construction:

  • bifold
  • trifold
Bifold

Bifold wallets have two equal halves with a fold in the middle. They are the most popular wallet choice for men. Bifold wallets offer convenient access to cards and cash, but can get bulky.

Trifold

Trifold wallets have two folds that divide them into three sections. Their additional compartments offer improved organization and improved carrying capacity. Bulk can also be a problem and it takes an additional unfolding step to retrieve items.

I found some great men’s wallet patterns for sale online. Several were leather, cork or other non-fraying options. My primary focus for this post is fabric wallets. Here, in no particular order, is my top picks for free men’s wallet patterns.
